 An Evening of Drumming:

 "Exploring the Heartbeat"

drum%20clip%20art%202.jpgThis two-hour session is for all levels of drumming including those who've never drummed before. We will start by connecting with the awareness of our own rhythm and heartbeat and learn to translate it into a simple beat and then explore different and related drumbeat patterns. Intermediate and advanced drummers will have a chance to unleash their energy and creativity during the powerful "open drumming" phase of the session. Beginners will acquire a knowledge of basic drumming beats and techniques.

Drums and rhythm instruments will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own drums and rhythm instruments as well. This is a fun, hands-on interactive "play-shop" that is guaranteed to energize, relieve stress and awaken your creativity. Click for Live Video

Four nights : An awakening of the senses.

When was the last time you tasted every morsel of your food? Walked in the rain? Danced with your eyes closed? Stuck your hands in the dirt?

Heard a lullaby?

To experience the world, we must be present. To be present, we must slow down and focus our senses. Our hurried, full, busy lives rarely give us the opportunity to engage our senses in deliberate fashion. We eat while watching television. We listen to music while driving our car and talking on our cell-phones. We hug our children while replaying the drama of our days in our minds. We turn on our television sets to drown the silence of our houses. We move from house, to car, to office and back without ever feeling a change in temperature.

For four Thursday nights in June, we invite you to join us for an exercise in conscious living. Through short guided meditations and unusual sensory exercises you will learn to slow down, focus your senses and experience the world in new ways.

You will feel calmer and more joyful. You will be challenged. You will feel present.

You will be changed.

First Night - Touch

Second Night - Smell

Third Night - Taste

Fourth Night- Sound
