What Do We Want
“Whether you think you can or you think your can’t…you are correct”. I have been saying this little piece for years. I truly believe that we create our reality with our thoughts and beliefs. And I also believe that the universe does not hear “not”, “don’t”,“no”, “none”, etc. So when I say “I don’t want to fail”…..guess what , I fail because that is exactly what I set up for myself. I was focusing on what I didn’t want instead of what I wanted. As a result of this, I don’t always seem to manifest what I think I am thinking. One of my mentors, Rolf Smith, taught me to always think about my thinking…..think differently…..be creative and most of all be willing to look at the results of how I think.
In all of my work though, this is one of the most difficult pieces to wrap my mind around. It seems as if we are born saying what we don’t want. “I don’t want to be hurt in this relationship…I don’t want to get sick…..I don’t want to fail…….I don’t want, I don’t want, I don’t want.” It has always been a struggle for me to say what I do want…..and say it with meaning. I truly believe that at the root of this is what Marianne Williamson wrote and was used by Nelson Mandela in his Presidential Inaugural Speech in 1994, which was “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.”
So I am asking myself what I continually ask my friends, family, and clients.. “What do I want?” Join me in stepping out of our vague small world of darkness into the bold beautiful world of light and love and speak to what you want….be big…be clear….be bold. What I want today and everyday is to let my light shine brightly and create a world of hope by loving unconditionally…..this is my want…..this is my work….this is my path.
